International Self-Compassion Day Free Online Practice Event!

Saturday July 19th 2025 | 10:00am EST | 7:00am PST

Life is full of ups and downs. Moments of challenge and pain are inevitable but self-compassion teaches us to meet those moments of struggle with inner kindness, care and resilience. By talking to ourselves and treating ourselves with genuine understanding and warmth (just as we’d treat someone we love!) those moments in life become easier to bear.

So many of us are used to being hard on ourselves with an inner dialogue that can be judgemental and critical. Practicing self-compassion flips the script of self-criticism and helps us take a stand for our wellbeing, from a place of love instead of criticism.

Saturday July 19th is International Self-Compassion Day and in celebration we’d love to guide you to discover the impact and power of this potent tool of self-acceptance and resilience.

“Well over 9,000 research studies have shown that self-compassion enhances mental, emotional and physical health, increases our motivation, and provides the resources needed to be compassionate to others without burning out.  But it's not enough for people to know about the empirical benefits of self-compassion, they need to experience it personally to see how it immediately enhances inner strength and resilience.” - Dr. Kristin Neff, Co-Founder of The Center for Mindful Self-Compassion

Self-compassion is a powerful practice that builds inner strength. It’s a healthy coping tool that you can reach for in times of difficulty or struggle and it’s available to you in any moment, even when all you have is a mere moment for yourself.

Join Jenny and her favourite self-compassion co-leader Amy Faba, for a free virtual event where you’ll be guided to experience the power of self-compassion firsthand.

Read more about Jenny and Amy and their passion for Mindful Self-Compassion on our retreat page here. Our annual in-person self-compassion retreat for women is happening in PEC, Ontario October 24-26th 2025.

Building Inner Strength with Loving Kindness

Monday April 29th 2024 | 12-1pm EST | 9-10am PST

Self-compassion isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a powerful practice that builds inner strength. It’s a healthy coping tool that you can reach for in times of difficulty or struggle (I’m sure you know the unhealthy and unhelpful ones that you sometimes turn to!) and it’s available to you in any moment, even when all you have is a mere moment for yourself.

Join Jenny for a free learn & connect virtual event where she’ll lead the group through a potent exercise that will show you why loving kindness is a key tool for building inner strength and taking really good care of yourself. You’ll leave with a realistic, tangible, applicable-in-your-hectic-daily-life tool that you can take with you and access any time.

** This is the first free session in a series of self-compassion sessions that will be offered in 2024. I truly believe in the power of self-compassion to create a more compassionate and peaceful world and this is my way of making a small contribution in that direction. I hope you’ll join us and pay it forward!

Block this time off in your calendar because it’s truly a gift to yourself (and your work, your loved ones… it ripples!) and you won’t regret taking part.

Reflecting out of 2023 - Bounce through (not back!) with lessons learned.

If this has been a tough year for you, you’re not alone and you do not need to pressure yourself to ‘bounce back’ next year.

I believe that there’s no such thing as bouncing back, we only bounce through and forward, ideally with valuable lessons in tow.

This is a self-guided reflective exercise with prompts to help you close off the year by identifying valuable lessons to take forward.

Human beings are resilient by nature, but resilience doesn’t mean toughing out or pushing through the challenging bits of life. It’s about experiencing them fully and moving through adversity with lessons to take forward.

You can read more about my realistic take on resilience and how it’s a process (not a fixed trait!) on my articles page.

What lessons will you glean from 2023 and put to good use in 2024?

Use the guide below to honour how resilient you’ve been this year and for a meaningful send off of 2023!

How to Cultivate Hope when things feel hopeless

Friday December 8th 2023 | 12-1pm EST | 9-10am PST

Hope isn’t something you have or don’t have. It can be taught, nurtured and restored - even when you (and the world around you) feel hopeless.

Join Jenny for a free learn & connect virtual event where she’ll lead the group through a process of cultivating hope by creating pathways to a meaningful goal. She’ll explain how taking action builds motivation and restores hope.

Beyond wishing and optimism, which are passive - hope is actually active.

Hope researcher Chan Hellman says “Imagination is the instrument of hope” - it starts with a vision that turns to action.

So open your imagination, grab a spot and come curious, interested and HOPEFUL to discover new insights and inspiration!
